Dungey back in the lead...

See what happens when I toot my own horn?

RV dove over the handle bars trying a triple with no speed and Ryan Dungey takes the #1 spot for his third time this season.

Dungey also took home $1500 from SPIKE (yes, the TV station) for the hole shot. Now, SPIKE, if you can sponsor the hole shot dough, cant you televise the races every Saturday? This sport NEEDS a big time network to take a chance on it. It's waiting to explode. Hurry before ESPN the Ocho jumps on.

I hear there were some fisticuffs in the lites race too? Awesome!

Now that i know SPIKE's jumping into this SX thing, time to hit them up on twitter and get them in on the blog.

Just Under 10 weeks away!

Man, the countdown begins!

We are 10 weeks away from hitting the strip. I'm pumped, Lorisa is juiced, Kinger is bouncing off the walls and our newest recruit, Melissa is chompin at the bit.

We are getting awesome feedback from a lot of hotels on the strip and are hitting up a few more.

Big thanks to Bianca at The Mirage for hitting us back!

Our nightclub schedule is filling fast. Still looking for someone to get us into the race and hook it up with Pit passes!

Also, we have gotten some awesome discount offers for rooms from Planet Hollywood and Mirage, and we might jump on one soon but I am holding out a bit longer for a headline sponsor and comp'd rooms. I think we've got some interest, we'll see.

Here's the biggest question....where are we gonna eat????? Any suggestions? Post on our facebook page.

Also, big thanks to Southwest for getting out those $39 flight!

Sponsorships are heating up!

Big news guys! I'm still in contact with Planet Hollywood Hotel and it looks like we will be staying there (upgrade us to that PHamous panoramic suite PH!), still being watched by a big dirtbike magazine, and have a new sponsorship on board....

Ladies and gentlemen, a HUGE WUIV thank you to Caesars Palace and PURE the night club! Thats right, we will be getting crazy in the premier night club in the strip!

I'm a psychic!

So if you read my post from 2 weeks ago, you'll see toward the end that I was leaning toward Ryan Villipoto as my favorite for the 2010 SX title. He has won both races since my big prognostication! Pretty proud of that. The SX tour is on the east coast swing right now and the Olympics are killing the little TV coverage they have.

On trip news, the biggest sponsor thus far, Planet Hollywood, is still on board. Sadly, the lady that helped me out and ran their twitter account, Brandie, moved on to another hotel. The Tropicana in fact. Old school vegas right there.

Even though our group has been slowly whittled down to just us three bad-ass maniac life livers, we are still gonna hit the city like a flash flood and have the time of our lives!

Little update on the SX season....

So as you know, the trip revolves around the Supercross race. Here's a little primer for the season so far:

Defending Champ James "Bubba" Stewart (my favorite racer) and former SX champ Chad Reed are out taking care of injuries right now.

Stewart did win round 1, known as Anaheim 1, but Phoenix and Anaheim 2 were both won by rookie Ryan Dungey, on the Rockstar/Makita Suzuki.

Dungey shot to the lead at the San Francisco race but flew off of his bike and finished 4th. Ryan Villipoto on the Kawasaki and Josh Hill on the Yamaha put on an exciting battle and Washington's Villipoto took the top spot.

San Diego got soaked last week for the race at the Charger's Qualcomm Stadium, and Davi Millsaps gutted out the mud and wet sand for his first win of the season.

Currently, Dungey still sits atop the standings at 105 points, followed by Josh Hill (-4), and Ryan Villipoto (-10). Despite missing SF and SD, James Stewart is still in 10th, and a rider of his capabilities who has the talent to sweep an entire season can never be counted out.

Looking at the top 3, both the points and talent are too close to call anyone the favorite. Outside of the top 3 I wouldn't be quick to call any big jumps from anyone despite Stewart. Veteran Kevin Windham jumped out at me, but i get the feeling his best years have passed and i don't think he is capable of keeping up with the young talent.

We have 11 more races, and then we will be crowning the champ at Sam Boyd in Vegas. I hope it stays tight and the Vegas race is for all the marbles. If i had to call it here, I'd put my name on RV winning it all, unless Bubba comes back this week or next. I just like RV's style.
