We're hitting the after party with Carey Hart!

What a day! I woke up yesterday to read an email from Hard Rock Hotel's Nightlife Supervisor. We are hitting Wasted Space, Saturday, May 8th, for Carey Hart's official Super Cross After Party! Man, i am pumped for this! I wonder if Pink will be there? Are they still together? I have no clue.

Here's Hart hitting the backflip at Xgames 02. Remember, a backflip was still a pretty big deal back then.

Just so you can compare how far the game has come, here is X games 09, 7 years later.

Quicky Vegas Updates....

Of course, we're still looking for a couple sponsors. Need someone for the SX after parties on Saturday night. Looking to hear back from Ghost Bar and HOPEFULLY HRH will get back to me. Them and Tao, i swear, next to impossible to get a hold of. I'm not arrogant enough to think I'm a big shot and they NEED to get a hold of us, but wouldn't it be bad ass for everyone?

Looking for a clothing sponsor too, so if you want some T-shirts in these Vegas pics and videos, hit me up. hoping the hometown guys at Anycal will come thru.

Oh, and hotels peeps, someones gotta want to comp us rooms, right? As of now, were taking advantage of Planet Hollywoods great rates, but free is too good to pass up. Someone make our trip!

Welp, off to check my lotto ticket to see if I'm a new millionaire!

Ms Cleo has nothing on me....

Seriously! Look at the post from 2 weeks ago. C'mon now, thats pretty good right?

So, if my prediction sticks, we should have a random winner next week. We will see.

You see, this is why motocross and supercross are so incredible. For the most part, the riders have no idea what the track is gonna look like until they get there. And after that, the track changes lap by lap. Thats gotta be rough. I bet the SX at that new stadium in Dallas was amazing. I'm gonna have to see that place and the "godzillatron" soon.

Like I've said before, I expect this to be a RV/RD battle, hopefully coming right down to the vegas race for the crown. I wonder what the season would look like if Reed and Stewy hadnt gotten hurt. Some might believe we wouldn't even be talking to these two, but I'd disagree. I think the gap is closing. Of course, all things equal and healthy, I think JS7 would have ran away with it, but i think these 2 up and comers would have made some noise, fashow.

Review of last week and well wishes...

First off, I want to give our condolences to everyone at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Vegas. They lost one of their top executives today in an apparent suicide. Just goes to show that nobody, no matter how successful, is immune from depression. Stay strong, HRH. We hope we get a chance to visit you guys soon to see all that Randy had accomplished.

On a lighter note, my SX prediction grew even stronger this week, as RV continues to tear up the field in the heavys. Grant Langston took a very scary crash on the super tough Daytona track this week.

Here's my opinion moving forward. I think your going to see the season turn into a RV v. Dungey battle from here on out, but don't be surprised to see guys like Alessi and KW venture into the podium every couple weeks.

This is an exciting time for SX fans. i remember going to races a while back and knowing if RC or Bubba, in their respective times, got the holeshot, it was game over. It's great to see 2 riders of the future step up with Bubba and Chad Reed out, though it looks like Reed will be back soon.

Man, the trip is getting hella close. We nailed down visits to the Mirage and Caesars, and are currently working with The Palms and hope to hear from Oakley and Racerx soon.

Thanks for all the support guys!

working on that all important "to-do" list...

Sitting here tonight working twitter for more sponsors for our trip. i got a lot of room to fill, including a restaurant each night, another club or so, some more shows and some day time activities. Also working on an apparel and optics sponsor. Hope these guys see how hard I am working on this and how serious I am, big thanks to those who do already!

So here's some cool ideas, kinda like a Vegas scavenger hunt:
-Pick up a poker chip from each hotel
-Take a picture of the crew in front of every place we visit
-Run into one of the SX racers
-Meet a celebrity
-taste the best margarita, micro brew and steak or ribs on the strip.

What else? Nothing too scandalous, I've got a fantastic reputation to keep, haha!

Dungey back in the lead...

See what happens when I toot my own horn?

RV dove over the handle bars trying a triple with no speed and Ryan Dungey takes the #1 spot for his third time this season.

Dungey also took home $1500 from SPIKE (yes, the TV station) for the hole shot. Now, SPIKE, if you can sponsor the hole shot dough, cant you televise the races every Saturday? This sport NEEDS a big time network to take a chance on it. It's waiting to explode. Hurry before ESPN the Ocho jumps on.

I hear there were some fisticuffs in the lites race too? Awesome!

Now that i know SPIKE's jumping into this SX thing, time to hit them up on twitter and get them in on the blog.

Just Under 10 weeks away!

Man, the countdown begins!

We are 10 weeks away from hitting the strip. I'm pumped, Lorisa is juiced, Kinger is bouncing off the walls and our newest recruit, Melissa is chompin at the bit.

We are getting awesome feedback from a lot of hotels on the strip and are hitting up a few more.

Big thanks to Bianca at The Mirage for hitting us back!

Our nightclub schedule is filling fast. Still looking for someone to get us into the race and hook it up with Pit passes!

Also, we have gotten some awesome discount offers for rooms from Planet Hollywood and Mirage, and we might jump on one soon but I am holding out a bit longer for a headline sponsor and comp'd rooms. I think we've got some interest, we'll see.

Here's the biggest question....where are we gonna eat????? Any suggestions? Post on our facebook page.

Also, big thanks to Southwest for getting out those $39 flight!

Sponsorships are heating up!

Big news guys! I'm still in contact with Planet Hollywood Hotel and it looks like we will be staying there (upgrade us to that PHamous panoramic suite PH!), still being watched by a big dirtbike magazine, and have a new sponsorship on board....

Ladies and gentlemen, a HUGE WUIV thank you to Caesars Palace and PURE the night club! Thats right, we will be getting crazy in the premier night club in the strip!

I'm a psychic!

So if you read my post from 2 weeks ago, you'll see toward the end that I was leaning toward Ryan Villipoto as my favorite for the 2010 SX title. He has won both races since my big prognostication! Pretty proud of that. The SX tour is on the east coast swing right now and the Olympics are killing the little TV coverage they have.

On trip news, the biggest sponsor thus far, Planet Hollywood, is still on board. Sadly, the lady that helped me out and ran their twitter account, Brandie, moved on to another hotel. The Tropicana in fact. Old school vegas right there.

Even though our group has been slowly whittled down to just us three bad-ass maniac life livers, we are still gonna hit the city like a flash flood and have the time of our lives!

Little update on the SX season....

So as you know, the trip revolves around the Supercross race. Here's a little primer for the season so far:

Defending Champ James "Bubba" Stewart (my favorite racer) and former SX champ Chad Reed are out taking care of injuries right now.

Stewart did win round 1, known as Anaheim 1, but Phoenix and Anaheim 2 were both won by rookie Ryan Dungey, on the Rockstar/Makita Suzuki.

Dungey shot to the lead at the San Francisco race but flew off of his bike and finished 4th. Ryan Villipoto on the Kawasaki and Josh Hill on the Yamaha put on an exciting battle and Washington's Villipoto took the top spot.

San Diego got soaked last week for the race at the Charger's Qualcomm Stadium, and Davi Millsaps gutted out the mud and wet sand for his first win of the season.

Currently, Dungey still sits atop the standings at 105 points, followed by Josh Hill (-4), and Ryan Villipoto (-10). Despite missing SF and SD, James Stewart is still in 10th, and a rider of his capabilities who has the talent to sweep an entire season can never be counted out.

Looking at the top 3, both the points and talent are too close to call anyone the favorite. Outside of the top 3 I wouldn't be quick to call any big jumps from anyone despite Stewart. Veteran Kevin Windham jumped out at me, but i get the feeling his best years have passed and i don't think he is capable of keeping up with the young talent.

We have 11 more races, and then we will be crowning the champ at Sam Boyd in Vegas. I hope it stays tight and the Vegas race is for all the marbles. If i had to call it here, I'd put my name on RV winning it all, unless Bubba comes back this week or next. I just like RV's style.

And we are in business!

Big thanks to Brandie and the Planet Hollywood team for inviting us to the Holly Madison "peepshow" at Planet Hollywood Hotel!

This is our first sponsor and i'm putting up the banner now. Thanks a ton guys!

We've got contact!

So were trying hard to hit 100 followers on the facebook fan page. I'm almost up to 30 tonight but i need people to get their friends in on it.

I did hear back from one establishment, and i am super pumped. They have a big event this weekend (like really big, huge infact) and after they will look everything over and see if they want to sponsor us. Cross your finger, link our pages and be vocal.

Best of luck to you this week.

-Ric

Our first post!

Whoo! Alright, glad i got this up and running. So i kicked off this crazy idea this week and have been reaching out to hotels, clubs and destinations this week, one by one, to see if they want to help out and host us.

So far we have gotten an OK response. I'll post more as the details get narrowed down but were are looking good. In the mean time i will be still checking out rates incase nobody wants to help.

Until Next time!

-Ric
